Barely a day after eight people died in a stampede during TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu’s roadshow in Kandukur of Nellore district, the TDP supremo conducted another roadshow in Kavali. Instead of taking moral responsibility for the death of eight innocent people, the TDP chief pinned the blame on the public instead.
Chandrababu Naidu lectured people to be ‘self-disciplined while visiting public rallies’. Indifferent to people’s loss and pain, Naidu continued his political programme and stooped to another low when he mentioned the castes of those deceased only for petty political gains.
Chandrababu Naidu said, “Out of the total eight people who died in the accident, four were SCs, (two belonged to Madiga & 2 belonged to Mala community), one to was a Yanadi, another a BC (Viswabrahmin community) and two were OCs.”
Slamming Chandrababu Naidu’s shameful comments, State Social Welfare Minister Merugu Nagarjuna asked, “Chandrababu Naidu, how many times will you use the caste of people for politics? You sacrificed people’s lives for your publicity mania. You are responsible for those eight deaths. For you everything is politics.”
Not just this, while interacting with the media, Chandrababu Naidu said, “Some people lost their lives. Be disciplined and whenever there are crowds self-discipline is important.”
Responding to his derogatory remarks, Merugu Nagarjuna said, “After using people as elements for publicity, now Chandrababu Naidu is blaming the dead people for not maintaining discipline. Even in death, Chandrababu Naidu didn’t have a feeling of guilt or repentance. It is very shameful.”
TDP supremo’s reprehensible comments signify that human lives don’t matter to him, Nagarjuna said and ocndemned the comments. He also demanded an immediate unconditional apology from the TDP chief.
