State Energy Minister Guntakandla Jagadish Reddy has announced that efforts will be made to provide insurance to photographers in Telangana. The minister said that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has been consulted in this regard and a decision in this regard will be soon announced. Minister Jagadish Reddy was the chief guest at the Telangana Photo and Videographers Welfare Association plenary meeting held at Shilpa Kala Vedika in Hyderabad on Tuesday evening.
During the meeting, Minister Jagadish Reddy expressed concern over the issues faced by photographers, including the loss of equipment and cell phones. He assured the welfare association that their demands are reasonable and will be met in order of priority according to the rules. He also responded to the request that the association should have offices in district centres, stating that it will be implemented from the joint Nalgonda district itself.
The plenary meeting was attended by members of the community, including Y Venkat Reddy, YK Hussain, Raparthi Srinivas Goud and Munagala Shailender. This announcement is expected to bring relief to many photographers who have been struggling to cope with the loss of equipment due to unforeseen circumstances.
