Minister distributes food, medicines to flood victims

Minister for Housing and Information & Public Relations Kolusu Parthasarathy took part in distributing food, milk and medicines to the flood-affected people, besides cleaning various areas in Vijayawada city on Friday. He visited 32nd and 52nd divisions of the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation and supervised the sanitation in many colonies.
The Minister visited the Budameru flood-affected areas and interacted with the people. Later, he participated in the cleaning of roads and houses along with fire tenders.
Speaking on the occasion, he appealed to the public to stay vigilant against seasonal diseases and take preventive steps. Also, he directed the Medical and Health department officials to be ready with medical kits to provide assistance to the flood victims. Also, he asked the officials to conduct medical tests on the people.
He said various government departments have taken steps to remove the stagnated flood water in various colonies in the city. Later, he visited Amaravati Colony, Sundaramma Dibba, Urmila Nagar and other areas and assured the residents that the government would stand with them. Later, he distributed food, milk, biscuits and drinking water to the people.
