Minister flags off 17 new APSRTC buses in chittoor

Minister for Transport and Youth Affairs M Ramprasad Reddy flagged off 17 new APSRTC buses in the bus depot here on Saturday. The Minister, flanked by Collector Sumit Kumar, MLA G Jagan Mohan and Mayor K Murali Mohan, flagged off the newly inducted 17 buses.
On the occasion, the Minister regretted that during the last five years of the YSRCP regime, the State Road Transport Corporation has become weak. “After N Chandrababu Naidu became the Chief Minister, about 1400 buses have come under the purview of APSRTC and about 400 buses have come on the roads,” the Minister stated.
The Minister said that the Chief Minister is taking steps to put the APSRTC on the right path as the organization was crippled during the five years previous regime. He reiterated that the Chief Minister is taking steps to ensure that all the promises are promptly fulfilled to the people.
Minister Ramprasad Reddy said that the state RTC is very useful for the people and the RTC bus has become a part of life to the common man as the RTC buses go to villages as well.
“The government is making efforts to provide free bus travel to women as per the promise made by Chandrababu Naidu. The government will announce the good news on the free travel to women very soon,” the Minister announced.

The Transport Minister also emphasized the need to induct more electronic buses into the RTC. TDP leaders Dorababu, CK Babu, K Hemalatha and RTC DM Roopsri were among those who were present.
