Minister flags off 5 vans to educate farmers about high crop yields

Andhra Pradesh Agriculture Minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy on Sunday flagged off a fleet of 5 mobile vans as part of ACFI’s extensive outreach campaign ‘Jago Kisan Jago’ to educate farmers about the importance of using high-quality genuine agricultural inputs for maximizing crop yields.
Agro Chem Federation of India (ACFI) has launched the nationwide campaign ‘Jago Kisan Jago’ to educate farmers on the importance of using genuine Agri inputs and also obtaining proper receipts to guarantee the authenticity of the Agrochemical they are purchasing.
Addressing the gathering of farmers and other stakeholders after the launch, Minister Govardhan Reddy said the state government has launched several initiatives to help farmers increase their income, and increase farm output as the state aims to raise its shares in the national output and exports.
The expansion of irrigation facilities and renewal of irrigation tanks has led to a significant increase in crop acreage, resulting in improved farm productivity and enhanced prosperity for farmers, the Minister said.
“In a steadfast commitment to enhancing agricultural productivity, the Andhra Pradesh government has taken proactive steps to ensure the availability of high-quality agricultural inputs to the farming community. Farmers in our State enjoy seamless access to superior seeds, fertilizers, and agrochemicals, a testament to the state’s unwavering commitment to bolstering agriculture,” the Minister said.
Elaborating on the ‘Jago Kisan Jago’, RG Agarwal, Chairman, of Kisan Kalyan Committee, ACFI, and Chairman of Dhanuka Group, said these mobile audio vans in progressive state like Andhra Pradesh marks a notable advancement in equipping farmers with crucial knowledge on the judicious and right application of pesticides as per the recommendations of the scientists, experts and use them at right time, in right dose with right water volume and right spray technology to gain maximum benefit on the money spent on crop protection chemicals and the necessity of purchasing pesticides with proper bills.
