Deputy CM and Minister for Endowments, Kottu Satyanarayana, has strongly challenged Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu to seek votes on the basis of the development work done during his tenure as chief minister from 2014 to 2019.

He said that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is seeking votes on grounds of welfare and development schemes under the YSRCP government. He refuted Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan’s allegations about the demolition of 219 temples, reminding everyone that it was the Chandrababu Naidu government supported by the BJP government that demolished the temples. CM Jagan is now working towards rebuilding these temples.

Minister Satyanarayana further stated that Jana Sena activists are involved in every conflict and criticised Pawan Kalyan for inciting them as goons and rowdies. He questioned Pawan’s claim that there is no law and order in the State and pointed out that both Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan are conspiring to portray the state as one filled with violence. The Minister also criticised the opposition leaders, stating that if they come to power, they will imprison everyone. He emphasised that the people are of the opinion that they do not need leaders like Chandrababu Naidu, his son Lokesh, and Pawan Kalyan.

During a review meeting with endowments officials, the Minister announced that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has sanctioned Rs 70 crore for the development works at Kanaka Durga temple. He highlighted that special measures are being taken to develop Indrakiladri in accordance with the master plan.

As part of these efforts, a single building housing the ‘prasadam potu’, ‘prasadam’ counters, and stock point is being constructed at a cost of Rs 27 crore.

The Minister mentioned that a two-floor ‘Annadanam’ building is being constructed with an allocation of Rs 30 crore to accommodate 1,500 to 1,800 people at a time. To manage the influx of devotees, the construction of an extended complex for queue lines is also underway, estimated to cost Rs 20 crore. Tenders for this project will be called this week, and the construction of a staircase, costing Rs 28 crore, will also commence.

Furthermore, the Minister announced the construction of a ‘Puja Mandapam’ at a cost of Rs 6 crore, specifically for conducting special ‘pujas’ for the Goddess. Tenders for this project will be invited in the second week of July. Moreover, a one-megawatt solar plant will be initiated, and a multi-level car park will be constructed at a cost of Rs 60 crore.
