Minister for Roads and Buildings Vemula Prashant Reddy has maintained that the official machinery has identified the beneficiaries for the double bedroom houses in a transparent way without giving any room for lobbying.
The double bedroom units are being distributed based on eligibility without giving any room for political intervention, he maintained.
He was addressing a gathering after inaugurating a double bedroom housing complex at Mortad village under the Balkonda Assembly constituency in Nizamabad district on Friday.
The Minister performed special puja, along with the beneficiaries, and handed over ownership documents and keys to the beneficiaries and congratulated them.
In a 2 BHK housing complex, a total of 224 units were built. Of which, 155 units had been distributed to the beneficiaries.
The Minister inspected the quality of the construction and expressed his satisfaction. At the request of the beneficiaries, he named the colony after Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao.
Earlier, the locals and villagers received the Minister amidst the beating of drums and women carrying bonams on their heads and lead him to the venue of the meeting from the housing colony. The people were seen showering petals all along the route of the minister.
The beneficiaries expressed their indebtedness to the government of Telangana for giving them possession of the 2 BHK houses.
The balance of the 69 units would be given possession to the eligible very soon, he said.
Further, he said that 120 persons, having own house-site, would be benefited under Gruhalakshmi scheme. An additional 200 would be benefited under the scheme, he said.
He appealed to those who did not get a 2 BHK house in the first phase not to get disheartened. All the eligible people would get double bedroom houses in the second phase.
MPP Sivalingu Srinivas, ZPTC Ravi, DCCB vice-chairman Ramesh Reddy, Armoor RDO Vinod Kumar, R and B Superintending Engineer Rajeshwar Reddy, village sarpanch Bhoga Dharani Anand, officials of the government department, elected people’s representatives, beneficiaries and others were present.
