Minister for Health Vidadala Rajini has instructed the authorities to identify areas where dengue and malaria fevers have been prevalent and take appropriate measures on war footing. The minister held a video conference with all the state and district-level officials on Friday regarding the preparedness of the medical and health department against seasonal diseases.
On the occasion, the minister said that there is a possibility of seasonal diseases prevailing in the onset of the rainy season, and it is the responsibility to be vigilant with public health. She said that a house-to-house survey should be started immediately and all relevant arrangements should be made for volunteers and ANMs to participate in this survey. The fever survey should be started from July 10 She said that the staff of the medical and health department should coordinate with the Panchayat Raj and Municipal departments in the matter of sanitation.
She instructed to keep testing kits handy at the YSR Village Health Clinic level and ensure that there will be no shortage of kits anywhere. Effect of seasonal diseases is usually high in the agency areas and immediate action should be taken in those areas. She also stated that special attention should be paid to districts like Manyam and Alluri Sitaramaraju where the Agency area is more.
She suggested fogging, distribution of mosquito nets in the agency areas and officials were instructed to visit the field level during these three months when there is a break of seasonal diseases.
