Agriculture Minister Singireddy Niranjan Reddy, who is on a visit to America, met the State’s Lt. Governor Adam Gregg in Des Moines, the capital of Iowa, on the first day.
The Minister explained to Lieutenant Governor Adam Gregg the all-round development of Telangana State in the last nine years under the leadership of Chief Minister KCR.
Niranjan Reddy said that the State of Iowa, which is known as an agricultural state, and the State of Telangana have many similarities. The Minister stated that both the states have become number one in the production of food grains, poultry and produce, and there are opportunities for mutual cooperation in many aspects between the two states in the future.
The said that Telangana, which is the youngest State in India, is showing inspiring development in many fields, from agriculture to the IT sector, and the reason for this is the vision and leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.
The Minister explained to them that the local farmers, who were once in dire straits, have now become financially stronger due to the revolutionary schemes brought by the Telangana State government.
As a result of many policy decisions taken in the agricultural sector of Telangana, the production of food grains in the State has increased tremendously, and when Minister Singireddy Niranjan Reddy explained with the statistics, Lt. Governor Adam Gregg was amazed.
Indeed, Telangana’s achievements are something to be proud of, said Governor Greg. Adam Gregg believes that if the states of Iowa and Telangana work together in agriculture and allied sectors, miracles can be created.
Minister Singireddy Niranjan Reddy met Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig. The Minister mentioned about the progress made in agriculture and its allied sectors in Telangana in the last nine years.
The Minister explained that the completion of lift irrigation projects like Kaleshwaram in record time has paved the way to irrigate 45 lakh acres and farmers have benefited a lot through investment assistance schemes like Rythu Bandhu.
