Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav has reviewed measures being taken for the
protection of animals. He asked officials to monitor insurance tags and medicines
to the distributed sheep.
Srinivas Yadav said that special attention should be paid to the health of living
beings in summer. Care should be taken to ensure that there is no shortage of
nutrients for the animals.
Farmers should be made aware of the precautions to be taken for the care of
animals. Monitoring should be done to ensure availability of insurance tags and
medicines to the sheep distributed to the beneficiaries as part of the sheep
distribution programme, the minister said.
A cattle semen production centre constructed at a cost of Rs 22 crore in
Rangareddy district will be started soon. Works related to the establishment of
mutton canteens should be speeded up, he added.
Fish Food Festivals on the occasion of Mrigasira in all districts will be held on
June 7, 8 and 9 and fishermen membership registration programme should also be
accelerated.
Senior officials of Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Dairy Development
Departments were present at the meeting on Monday.
