Minister for Agriculture S Niranjan Reddy vowed to ensure that Palamauru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme (PRLIS) is constructed irrespective of hurdles. The PRLIS, when completed, would bring prosperity to people in the undivided Mahabubnagar district, he said.
The Mission Bhagiratha scheme has already changed the face of Palamuru district. The villages, which were deserted with the poor migrating to cities like Mumubai in search of livelihood during the period of United Andhra Pradesh, are now bustling with activity. Palamauru district was the worst hit district during the time of United Andhra Pradesh, the Minister said.
Speaking at a meeting with party leaders here, Niranjan Reddy stressed the need to strengthen the party at grassroots. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has introduced several reforms during the last eight years, he said.
