Minister vows to develop Vemulawada temple

The appointment of temple trust boards for almost all temples has been completed. Trust boards are yet to be put in place for a few temples, including Vemulawada temple, said Endowments Minister A Indrakaran Reddy. 

The temple trust boards for them would also be constituted taking it to the notice of the Chief Minister, he said. 

The Minister visited the Rajarajeswara Swamy temple at Vemulavada Wednesday. He arrived at the temple with the temple authorities extending him full temple honours. 

Later speaking to the media, he said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was committed to the development of temples in the State. The land has been acquired for the development of Rajarajeswara Swamy temple at Vemulawada by spending Rs 100 crore, he said, hinting at the launching of further works to develop the temple. 

He said that the paddy production in Telangana was 56 lakh tonnes and called it a record of sorts in the country. Because of the Jalayagnam, the rivers, streams and tanks are full up to the brim. 

At Nagaram village, the Minister took part in the re-installation of the idols at Sitaramachandra temple. He took part in the Kalyana Mahotsavam of the deities at Nagaram in Konaraopeta mandal. 

He hinted at establishing an urban forest in Nagaram village. 

The Minister said that the Yadadri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple was developed at a total cost of Rs 1200 crore. Because of the development of the temple with all amenities, people from as far as north India are visiting here, he said. 

Former Governor of Maharashtra Ch Vidyasagar Rao, State Planning Board Vice-Chairman B Vinod Kumar, MLA Ramesh Babu and others accompanied the Minister.
