Minister for Prohibition and Excise V Srinivas Goud has said that his objective is to make Mahabubnagar district number one in development. He maintained that welfare and development programmes would be implemented.
He expressed concern over some vested interests slinging mud at the BRS to derive sadistic pleasure. “Dogs bark at elephants,” he said. However, the BRS leaders are forging ahead despite the hurdles.
The Minister was participating, along with his spouse, in an Atmeeya Sammelan held at Vasavi Gardens in Palakonda area under the aegis of the town Arya Vysya Sangham on Sunday.
Earlier, the Arya Vysya Sangham members extended warm welcome to the Minister and his spouse and conducted them to the function hall from the main road in a specially embellished chariot. Later, the Association members felicitated the Minister and his spouse on a grand scale.
Addressing the gathering, the minister recalled how the chronic patients had to be referred to hospital in Hyderabad in case of emergencies for want of medical treatment facilities here.
However, in new state of Telangana the first ever medical college has been set up here. Also, the health facilities in government hospitals have been strengthened.
On the lines of Gandhi Hospital in Hyderabad, a 1000-bed superspecialty hospital is being built in place of the old collectorate.
In future, Metro Rail would be extended from Shad Nagar to Divitipalli IT corridor, he said. He promised the gathering to provide Metro facility to Shamshabad airport from here so that one would be able to reach the airport in one hour.
The largest ever eco-park in the country – the KCR eco-park would be extended to over 26,000 acres, he said. Tourism would be developed on a grand scale by promoting jungle safari.
He pointed out that the land prices near the bypassroad shot up to Rs 6-7 crore per acre from the earlier Rs 5 lakh an acre.
The land prices in Mahabubnagar would sky rocket on the lines of Hyderabad in future, he remarked.
The tourism attractions developed in the town like Silparamam, tank bund road, island in the middle of the tank here, laser show, Manyamkonda rope-way project, budget hotels would bring more and more tourism glory to the town.
In undivided AP, the government of Andhra Pradesh paid no attention for development of the Arya Vysya community, whereas the Government of Telangana stood by them. He said the government released Rs 2 crore for development of Vasavi Mahila Convention centre and Rs 25 lakh for development of vysya hostel.
Municipal chairman KC Narsimhulu, market committee chairman Rehaman, former market committee chairmen Cherukupalli Rajeshwar, Guddeti Sivakumar, town Arya Vysya president Gunda Venkateswarlu and others were present on the occasion.
