Minority welfare schemes reviewed

Union Minority Affairs Secretary Mukhmeet S Bhatia, on Friday, reviewed the minority welfare schemes being implemented in the State with the officials of the State Minority Welfare Department. On the occasion, various welfare schemes implemented by the Central and State governments for the minorities were reviewed.

In particular, the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK) and Pre Matriculation, Post Matriculation, Merit-cum-Means Scholarships and Begum Hazrat Mahal National Scholarships offered by the Central government for minorities were reviewed. Bhatia reviewed the Jagananna Videsi Vidyadevena, Overseas Education Scheme and YSR Shadi Thofa schemes implemented by the State government for minorities. Similarly, Navaratnalu programmes implemented by the AP Minorities Finance Corporation for minorities and the Waqf Board programmes were also examined.

He also reviewed the programmes being implemented by the Andhra Pradesh State Christian Minorities Finance Corporation. The Secretary advised the officials to do their best for the uplift of the minorities by properly implementing various welfare schemes of the Central and State governments.

State Minority Welfare Department Secretary A MD Imtiaz, State Minority Welfare Department Director Dr GC Kishore Kumar, Additional Secretary B Rose Lata Bhai, Assistant Secretary T Srinivasulu, APSMFC VC and MD Sheikh Shareen Begum, APSCMFC MD J Elisha, APSWB CEO L Abdul Qader, Urdu Academy Director Dr Ayub Hussain, CEDM Director Sheikh Mastan Vali, APSNDFS MD Dr Mohammad Mastan and others were present.
