Telangana is set to capture global attention as Hyderabad gets ready to host the 72nd Miss World 2025 competitions from May 10 to 31. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, the state government has drawn up an elaborate action plan to not only conduct the event grandly but also project Telangana’s culture, history, medical strength and safe tourism to the world.

The event, which will bring contestants from nearly 120 countries to Hyderabad, is being seen as a golden opportunity to enhance Telangana’s global brand image and attract large-scale investments. The government is treating this as a milestone event that will showcase every facet of Telangana, from its heritage and traditions to its modern growth story.

With the slogan “The World looks at Telangana!”, special themes and tourist circuits have been designed to introduce global visitors to the state’s rich offerings. Contestants are expected to arrive between May 2 and 8 and will embark on several curated tours across Telangana.

As per the travel plan, the global participants will visit a series of locations that highlight Telangana’s unique blend of spirituality, history, culture and development.

The Buddhist spiritual circuit will begin with a visit to the Buddhavanam Project and Buddhist Theme Park at Nagarjuna Sagar on May 12. This will be followed on the same day by a Hyderabad heritage walk covering the Charminar and Laad Bazaar, giving contestants a glimpse into the city’s vibrant past and traditions.

On May 13, the group will visit the iconic Chowmahalla Palace and enjoy a live music concert. The following day, the teams will split into two groups. While the first group will head to the historic Warangal Fort and Thousand Pillar Temple, the second group will visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Ramappa Temple, and watch the Perini dance performance.

The spiritual journey will continue on May 15 as the first group visits Yadagirigutta temple while the second group tours Pochampally to witness handloom weaving demonstrations. On May 16, contestants will be introduced to Telangana’s emerging medical tourism sector with a visit to AIG Hospital. On the same day, the second group will visit the ancient Pillalamarri tree in Mahabubnagar and Experium Eco Park in Hyderabad.

Sporting events will also be part of the schedule. On May 17, the Miss World Sports Finals will be held at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium. The same day, contestants will visit the famous Ramoji Film City.

To highlight Telangana’s emphasis on safety, contestants will visit the Telangana Police Integrated Command and Control Centre on May 18, followed by a visit to the Secretariat, where they will be briefed on the state’s growth story and enjoy the Sunday Funday carnival at Tank Bund.

The continental cluster-based regional selections will take place on May 20 and 21. The same days will also feature IPL match attendance at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium and an arts and crafts workshop at Shilparamam.

As the event moves towards its finale, the contestants will participate in the Talent Finale on May 22, Head-to-Head Challenge Finale on May 23, and Top Model and Fashion Finale along with Jewellery and Pearl Showcase on May 24.

On May 26, Miss World’s signature event — Beauty with a Purpose — will see contestants presenting their social initiatives. The grand finale will be held on May 31, marking the culmination of the month-long celebration of Telangana’s diversity and aspirations.

Meanwhile, Miss World Limited Chairperson and CEO Julia Evelyn Morley along with Miss World official Kerry and other delegates arrived in Hyderabad on May 2. They were welcomed in traditional Indian style at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, signaling the formal start of the prestigious international event.
