Ex-CRDA chief Vivek appointed AP’s new CEO
Senior IAS officer Mukesh Kumar Meena has been appointed as the Principal Secretary of Excise, with full additional charge (FAC) of the Commerce and Industries department. Chief Secretary Neerabh Kumar Prasad issued GO Rt No 1250 on Friday to formalize MK Meena’s appointment.
Previously serving as the Andhra Pradesh chief electoral officer (CEO) during the recent Assembly elections, MK Meena now takes on the role of principal secretary of Excise, with added responsibilities for Commerce and Industries.
He will oversee liquor revenue and work to attract business and industrial establishments to the state.
This new appointment marks a promotion for Meena, who had been sidelined during the Jagan Mohan Reddy government until recently.
To replace him, the government has appointed another senior officer, Vivek Yadav, by issuing GO Rt No 1249 on Friday. Yadav, who was recently the commissioner of the AP Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA), will now serve as the CEO, likely until the next elections.
