The CBI is planning to step into action in the sensational case regarding the alleged attempt by the BJP to buy BRS MLAs.

After the orders of the Telangana High Court and the Supreme Court came in its favour the CBI is getting ready to launch an investigation into the case. Sources said that the CBI is preparing the list to whom notices should be issued.

Top sources said the CBI is likely to issue notices to the Telangana police and to the print and electronic media.

The CBI is also going to appeal to the print and electronic media in its notice to cooperate with them in the investigation into the alleged attempts to buy BRS MLAs by the BJP by giving evidence if they have any.

The CBI will also request the Telangana police, particularly the Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted by the Telangana government to investigate this case. It may be recalled that the Telangana HC had quashed the SIT investigation and had transferred the case to the CBI.

The CBI is also likely to issue a notice to the BRS MLAs who were involved in the case. Sources said the CBI may issue a notice to Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao asking how he got the video footage of the attempts to buy BRS MLAs. KCR had sent the video footage to the High Court and to the Supreme Court while releasing them to the media. This has become another controversy in the case.

Now all eyes are on the CBI to see how it will proceed in the case. So far all developments in the case in courts are in favour of the BJP and against the BRS and its President K. Chandrasekhar Rao. All attempts of the Telangana government to prevent the CBI from probing the case failed.

The Supreme Court said that it would hear on February 17 the two special leave petitions filed by the Telangana government seeking suspension of the orders issued by the Telangana High Court pertaining to handing over the investigation in the case to the CBI.

At the same time, the Supreme Court has turned down the request of the Telangana government to give an oral order restraining the CBI from taking over the investigation of the case.

After this, the CBI decided to step into the investigation of the case. Now, BRS leaders are worried about what turns the case will take.

From the beginning, the BJP has been opposing the investigation of the case by the SIT and had demanded to hand over the case to the CBI.

While the BJP has no confidence in the SIT constituted by the BRS government the BRS has no confidence in the CBI which is controlled by the Centre.
