The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) has not left out the marriage season. On Thursday the corporation announced a key decision in the backdrop of the wedding season that a discount of 10 per cent will be given to those who hire buses.
This discount will be available on all types of bus services. The 10 per cent discount on hiring buses will be in force till June 30. The sources said that this season will be a bonanza for the TSRTC as many families planning marriages at places away from the city prefer RTC buses.
Earlier, TSRTC used to give discounts on bus rents during of Kartikamasam and the Sabarimala pilgrim season. The concession ended on December 31 last year.
In view of demand due to the wedding season, field officials suggested a 10 per cent discount.
TSRTC Chairman Bajireddy Govardhan and MD Sajjanar said that a 10 per cent discount has been given on bus rent so that people do not face any difficulties during auspicious events. They said that the TSRTC rents out buses at much cheaper rates than private firms. The facility is being provided without any cash security deposit.
