The Minister further said, “Niloufer and Mehdi Nawaz Jung hospitals will have new departments for which HODs are being shortlisted. Seniority of doctors is being prioritised for the selection process and there will be no preferences.”
The Minister said, “After the formation of Telangana, there were no HoD posts and incharges were appointed in their place.” He took a dig at the Centre over the NEET fiasco, and said, “Some states believe that Telangana could conduct the test more efficiently than the Centre, Should NEET be cancelled. Should it be administered by the Centre? Should it be given to the states?” he asked.
Rajanarasimha then recalled former West Bengal chief minister Dr BC Roy’s contribution to medical science.
It is to be noted that BC Roys’s birthday is celebrated as National Doctors Day.
