District Collector Ila Tripathi has directed officials to ensure that money is credited to the bank accounts of farmers selling their paddy within two days.
On Wednesday, she conducted surprise inspections at the paddy procurement centres at Arjalabavi and SLBC Battayi markets near Nalgonda and interacted with the farmers.
She urged farmers to bring their paddy to the procurement centres to secure support prices announced by the State government. She assured the farmers that the officials at the procurement centres would buy the produce without delay if the moisture content was not excessively high. Importantly, she mentioned that if farmers provide their land passbooks, Aadhaar cards, and photocopies of their bank accounts at the procurement centres, the money would be credited to their accounts within two days of purchasing paddy.
Separate procurement centres have been established for fine and coarse verities of paddy, and the State government is providing a bonus of Rs 500 for fine paddy. She encouraged farmers to make the most of this opportunity. The officials at the procurement centre were instructed to expedite paddy purchases, and if necessary, additional trucks would be dispatched to the procurement centres. She also requested millers to ensure that paddy is unloaded immediately without any delay.
