More rain pain in store for AP

The Meteorological Centre has issued a weather advisory predicting heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated locations in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh on September 4 and 5.

According to the weather report, significant rainfall is expected in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh over the next five days, South Coastal Andhra Pradesh over the next four days, and Rayalaseema within the next 48 hours.

Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are likely to occur at isolated spots in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh for the next five days and in South Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema for the next four days.

Over the next seven days, we anticipate light to moderate rain or thundershowers at various locations in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh, South Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Rayalaseema.

Over the last 24 hours, very heavy rainfall was reported in one or two areas within the YSR district and Nandyal district of Rayalaseema.

Heavy rainfall was observed in many areas in the Palnadu district of South Coastal Andhra Pradesh, a few areas in East Godavari and SPSR Nellore districts of Coastal Andhra Pradesh, YSR District, Tirupati, and Nandyal districts of Rayalaseema, and in one or two places in Vizianagaram and Prakasam districts of Coastal Andhra Pradesh, as well as Chittor, Annamayya, and Anantapur districts of Rayalaseema during the same period.

Rainfall was widespread over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema, while dry weather prevailed over the past 24 hours. The Southwest monsoon has been vigorous over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema, as mentioned in the report.
