More students register for TS EAMCET

The State Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test have seen an increase in registrations. Data reveals that there was an approximate increase of 53,873 registrations. As of Tuesday 3,20,587 students have registered compared to 2,66,714 in 2022.

The officials said that TS Ed CET saw 29,390 candidates registering, TS ECET-21586, TS LAWCET-41,439, TS ICET-43242, and TS PGECET-13,636.

Telangana State Council of Higher Education Chairman (TSCHE) Prof. R. Limbadri said that due to covid-19 students were cleared in their examinations and this data will also go up when Intermediate results are out. New nursing course admissions were also cited as a reason for it.

He also said that action will be taken against exam centres that do not follow rules. Students must stick to timings as rules cannot be changed for anybody.

EAMCET 2023 is scheduled to be held from May 10 to 14. There are 26 additional centres.

Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Vice Chancellor Prof. Katta Narasimha Reddy said they will introduce a Biotechnology course. There will be 60 seats and the fee will be Rs 1 lakh.  Admissions for this course will be through TS EAMCET.

Speaking on developments he said that many autonomous colleges are asking for permission to introduce new courses for the upcoming academic year. Their applications have been assessed and after the All India Council for Technical Education approves the colleges will be given the nod to start new courses.
