Mother, son electrocuted in Medak district

In a tragic incident, a woman received electric shock while trying to dry clothes at her residence in Usirikapalli village of Sivvampetamandal of Medak district on Thursday and died and also her son who tried to save her from electrocuted.
Her daughter who also tried to rescue her has been hospitalized with severe injuries.
She was identified as Manemma, 45, and her son Prasad. However, her daughter Srilata has been hospitalized.
The mishap occurred because electricity is passing through the iron wire meant for drying the clothes.
Srilata was immediately rushed to the Government Hospital in Toopran.  A pall of gloom has descened on the village following the twin deaths due to electrocution. Relatives of the family have been weeping inconsolably for their near and dear.
People have been advised to take precautions while drying the clothes as there is a chance of iron wires accidentally coming into contact with electric wires during the current rainy season leading to electricity passing through the wire.
They have been advised not to touch electric switches with wet hands.
