BRS Working President KT Rama Rao (KTR) met the victims of the Musi River Project in Hyderguda and Kishanbagh and extended his support. He assured them of protection from the Congress government’s proposed Musi Project.
He said that of the Rs 1.5 lakh crore Musi Project, the plan is to send Rs 25,000 crore to the Delhi bosses of the Congress. We will stand in the way of their bulldozers. So don’t lose heart, KTR said.
Addressing the gathering, KTR said, “From 1920 to 2020, we never faced any major issues with the Musi River. It was only in 2020, due to a heavy downpour, that problems arose in the area. Even then, KCR ensured that the public did not face any hardships.”
KTR described the Congress government as encroachers and said, “The same Congress that gave permission and registered the properties is now demolishing the very homes it approved. This government’s actions are so disorganized that the right-hand doesn’t know what the left hand is doing. Revanth is an unfit, incapable Chief Minister, causing immense disruption.
The buildings marked for demolition are worth around ?1,000 crore in one stretch alone in Hyderguda.”
KTR then drew a comparison with national projects: “For the 2,400-km Namami Gange project, Rs 40,000 crore was spent. But for just 55 km of the Musi River, the Congress government is quoting Rs 1.5 lakh crore. Who asked you to rejuvenate Musi at this exorbitant cost? Revanth promised six guarantees within 100 days. Have any of those guarantees been implemented? They even swore on stamp papers and affidavits, but nothing has materialized.”
KTR also recalled the negative history of Congress governance: “During previous Congress admins, Hyderabad used to see frequent curfews. But after KCR became the Chief Minister, Hyderabad flourished without a single curfew. Now, lakhs of people in Hyderabad are worried about losing their homes and the Congress is targeting Hyderabad’s BRS supporters. Rahul says ‘Bulldozer Raj’ won’t work in Uttar Pradesh, but in Telangana, their leaders are enforcing it. The way people are criticising Revanth on social media shows that his credibility is already sinking.”
KTR took a strong stance against Congress hypocrisy. “Even Revanth Reddy’s own house is built on a water body. Does he have the guts to demolish it? Congress ministers and MLAs have homes around Himayat Sagar. If you are honest, start by demolishing those houses first. For the poor and the middle class a house is more than just a building. It’s an emotion. By demolishing their homes, you are crushing their hopes.”
