Chief Minister Anumula Revanth Reddy ordered that the entire catchment area of Musi River from the starting point to the end of the city should be made an employment and economic development area.
The Chief Minister held a review meeting on Musi Riverfront Development Corporation at the Telangana Secretariat on Tuesday.
Speaking on occasion, Revanth Reddy suggested that the entire Musi catchment area should be developed as a self-financing area to attract tourists. For this, the authorities have been directed to make comprehensive plans to construct bridges, commercial shopping complexes, amusement parks, hawker zones and pathways along the Musi river in a public-private partnership system.
He said that sewage treatment plants should be set up in the required areas to reduce the pollution in the Musi river and prevent sewage from flowing. Measures should be taken to ensure that purified water flows in Musi and check dams should be constructed to ensure proper water level.
