Music University to be set up in Telangana: KTR

State IT and Industries Minister Kalvakuntla Tarakarama Rao has announced that a Music University will be established in Telangana if popular music director Ilayaraja agrees.

Former IAS officer Paparao attended the programme along with music director Ilayaraja at a special program organised on the occasion of the release of his self-directed film ‘Music School’.

On this occasion, KTR said that besides science, technology and engineering, music should also be a priority for children in the homes. He said that it is an honour to share the stage with Ilayaraja. If he agrees, he will establish a music university in the state. Ilayaraja responded to this and said that KTR is doing a lot for the people of Telangana and he is happy that the minister is coming and asking people for blessings.

Ilayaraja stated that there will be no violence in the area of learning music and that he agrees to the establishment of a music university. He said that if a music university is established, 200 Ilayarajas like him will be produced. All those who left the country are showing their talent in the world. KTR said that the Music University will soon be established along with the music school as the music director has agreed to join the music university.

KTR said that he was surprised when his 17-year-old son Himanshu said that he had sung a song three months ago and was releasing it. KTR said that he was surprised by his voice and talent, because he released the album without any training. “Many people have hidden talent and want to bring it out”, KTR said.

On this occasion, director and producer Papa Rao wished the film crew on the occasion of KTR. Along with heroine Shriya Saran, many actors participated in the program.
