Police on Saturday cracked the mystery behind the murder of an elderly couple at Rythu Ngar under Bikur mandal in the district on July 25, according to Kamareddy District Superintendent of Police Srinivas Reddy.
It may be recalled that elderly couple Narayana (70) and Sulochana (65) were brutally murdered on July 25 in their house. The couple used to run a grocery shop.
The Superintendent of Police said that the police took two persons moving in suspicious circumstances at gold shops. They belonged to Bikur town.
The police arrested three persons, named Chintu, his father Banka Lakshman and Navin.
The police said that the assailants were addicted to vices and lost money in gambling. They conspired to kill the elderly couple and rob the gold. As planned, the assailants gained entry into the house and beat Narayan to death and hanged his wife Sulochana from the ceiling, the police said. The Superintendent of Police complimented Deputy Superintendent of Police Jagannath Reddy, Rural Circle Inspector Murali and sub-inspector Ranjit for succeeding in cracking the mystery behind the murder.
