Revenue Minister Dharmana Prasada Rao alleged that TDP chief Chandrababu should feel ashamed for ignoring the development of Uttarandhra during the TDP regime.
Speaking to media persons on Saturday, the Minister said that former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy was the creator of irrigation projects in Uttarandhra.
It was the great leader YSR who started major projects such as Totapalli, Vamsdhara, and Mahendrathanaya off shore in Tekkali in the name of Jalayan. He said YSRCP chief and chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was following the footsteps of his father Dr YSR and the people of Uttarandhra will not forget the good deeds of the CM.
The minister further said that Chandrababu was the traitor of Uttarandhra, and recalled that Chandrababu himself accepted that he had done nothing to Uttarandhra despite being the CM for 14 years during the TDP rule.
He criticized Babu for asking the YSRCP government that came to power 4 years ago for not to complete the projects you were supposed to complete. He said that during the visit to Uttarandhra, Babu was trying to cheat the people once again by pretending as if he has love towards the people of this region.
The minister said that currently, 97 percent of the Vamsadhara project has been completed and the remaining 3 percent will be completed by December and Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will dedicate the project to the nation in December. The minister said that the people of the Uddanam area are facing a unique problem in the country and the people are dying of kidney diseases due to polluted groundwater.
Chandrababu did nothing for the people of Uddanam during his 14-year reign. As soon as our Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy came to power, a project was started with Rs 700 crores to provide drinking water to all the people of Uddanam area through pipelines from the barrage at Hiramandalam.
The minister further alleged that Chandrababu did not bring a single project to Srikakulam despite the central government giving 23 big institutions from 2014 to 2019 to Andhra Pradesh. He reminded the people of Uttandhra that Chandrababu did an injustice. He further said that Babu has done nothing to the Thotapalli reservoir. The minister recalled that Mulapet port works are moving in a swift phase at a cost of Rs 4000 crore and this is the first big investment in this area after getting independence and a fishing harbour at a cost of Rs 400 crore is also coming up in the area, said the minister.
