Naidu accused of obstructing welfare schemes

Must read

State president of YSRCP Women’s Wing, MLC Varudu Kalyani, has raised concerns over the alleged obstruction of welfare schemes by Opposition Leader N Chandrababu Naidu and urged voters to weigh the implications carefully. Speaking to the media on Friday, Kalyani accused Chandrababu of obstructing essential welfare schemes, citing instances where funds for schemes like Input Subsidy for Farmers, YSR Cheyutha, and Jagananna Vidya Deevena were reportedly blocked. She highlighted the plight of the elderly and widows, alleging that Chandrababu’s actions led to delays in pension disbursements, resulting in unfortunate deaths among vulnerable populations.
While Chandrababu defended his actions, citing concerns over fund mismanagement, Kalyani contested these justifications, pointing out discrepancies in the Election Commission’s approach between Andhra Pradesh and neighbouring Telangana. She emphasised that the High Court had rebuked the Election Commission for its stance, questioning why similar objections were not raised in other States.
Kalyani warned voters about the potential repercussions of supporting Chandrababu, emphasising the risk of losing existing welfare schemes and the progress made under Chief Minister Jagan’s leadership. She cautioned against a return to the previous administration’s policies, highlighting the importance of maintaining the current trajectory of development.
Urging the voters to support YSRCP candidates in the elections, Kalyani highlighted the need to combat Chandrababu’s alleged obstructionism and ensure the continued implementation of progressive policies aimed at uplifting the State’s disadvantaged communities. She urged voters to cast their ballots wisely and uphold the momentum of positive change initiated by the current government.
