Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has emphasised the importance of transforming the lifestyle of people from the downtrodden sections. He met with NITI Aayog Chief Executive Officer BVR Subrahmanyam and other representatives at the State Secretariat on Friday to discuss the vision document for Viksit Andhra Pradesh-2047. This document is part of the larger Viksit Bharat-2047 initiative.
The meeting focused on the programmes and projects necessary for the overall development of the State.
CM Naidu shared his experiences and the decisions he made as Chief Minister of both the combined Andhra Pradesh and the residual State, highlighting how these influenced lifestyle changes and his plans. He expressed his willingness to contribute actively to the nation’s progressive path with special plans. “Andhra Pradesh will certainly play an active role in the nation’s progress,” he stated.
CM Naidu stressed the need for government vision and the importance of achieving a poverty-free society through unique ideas and the latest technology. The vision for Viksit Andhra Pradesh-2047 should focus on these goals, he added.
The Chief Minister also emphasised the need for balanced population planning and predicted radical changes across all sectors with the advent of Artificial Intelligence (AI). He proposed branding both Amaravati and Visakhapatnam as AI hubs and mentioned plans to establish an AI University in the State. Additionally, he advocated for reforms in the farming sector that encourage sustainable practices. He believes that establishing horticulture-based food processing units in Rayalaseema will benefit farmers in the region.
CM Naidu also highlighted the importance of radical reforms in the power sector and preparing systems and people accordingly. He asserted that achieving a 15% growth rate could double the per capita income, and governments should work towards this goal to improve living standards. He also stressed the need to enhance skill development and design educational curricula from school to university level to achieve this. Policies that create wealth should be prioritised, and documents should be prepared after detailed discussions with intellectuals from IITs, IIMs, and ISB.
Ministers Nara Lokesh and Payyavula Kesav, Chief Secretary Neerabh Kumar Prasad, and officers from various departments participated in the meeting.
