Naidu tears into CM Accuses YSRCP government of maladministration

In a resurgence after a two-month hiatus, TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu has launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s administration, highlighting unfulfilled promises and accusing the YSRCP government of maladministration.
Naidu, on a mission to revitalise his party’s electoral standing, posed 10 probing questions to the people of Andhra Pradesh. He underscored the failure of the CM to secure Special Category Status for the State, despite a substantial mandate of 151 MLAs and 31 MPs.
The TDP leader pointed out the YSRCP’s unfulfilled commitment to completing the Polavaram project by 2020. While TDP claims to have accomplished 72% of the construction, Naidu accused Jagan Mohan Reddy of betraying farmers by withholding water from the Pattiseema project.
Addressing employment concerns, Naidu criticized the YSRCP government for not instituting an annual Job Calendar, asserting that unemployed youth in the state remain jobless. Drawing a comparison with the TDP’s record, he highlighted the establishment of 11 DSCs and the appointment of 1.5 lakh teachers during their 14-year governance. On the issue of prohibition, Naidu accused the YSRCP of failing to control alcohol consumption, alleging that the government endangered public health by selling substandard liquor and engaging in unethical practices such as cutting women’s Mangalsutras.
Naidu pledged that the TDP would promptly cancel the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) upon regaining power and questioned the YSRCP’s failure to implement the Option Protection Scheme (OPS). Drawing attention to the plight of Anganwadi staff, Naidu claimed that the YSRCP reneged on promises, while the TDP had increased their salaries and ensured job security.
The TDP leader criticised the YSRCP for condemning the free sand policy during their tenure and later exploiting it for massive profits. Naidu alleged that the YSRCP, through the sale of sand, had embezzled a staggering Rs 40,000 crores.
Turning to the issue of Amaravati as the capital, Naidu accused Jagan Mohan Reddy of deceiving the public, questioning the fate of the promised people’s capital. He also contended that had Jagan Mohan Reddy been in power before 2004, Hyderabad’s Hi-Tech city would not have flourished under his leadership.
Highlighting the YSRCP’s economic policies, Naidu criticised the government for escalating RTC and electricity charges, as well as hiking gas prices, including those of petrol and diesel.
In conclusion, Naidu questioned the YSRCP’s contribution to infrastructure development, particularly in laying roads, emphasizing the absence of new cement roads in villages. He expressed concern over farmer dissatisfaction and the alarming rate of farmer suicides, positioning Andhra Pradesh at the top in this tragic statistic.
Chandrababu Naidu challenged Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy to respond to these pressing issues, signalling the initiation of the TDP’s election campaign and its assertion that the YSRCP government has failed to deliver on its pre-2019 election promises.
