While TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu has not been invited to Tuesday’s NDA meeting, Jana Sena president Pawan Kalyan and party’s Political Affairs Committee chairman Nadella Manohar are in Delhi to attend the deliberations at BJP’s request.

The meeting of the NDA partners is perceived as a show of strength by the BJP, as it looks ahead to the forthcoming general elections. However, the TDP, which has been discreetly lobbying to rejoin the NDA, has not received an invitation.

TDP president Chandrababu Naidu, who had hoped for BJP support in the upcoming Assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh, now awaits further developments. Sources indicate that Naidu has requested Pawan to ascertain the BJP’s intentions regarding the TDP’s involvement in the Jana Sena-BJP alliance. This information will provide clarity for Naidu’s strategy in the forthcoming elections.

Earlier statements from Pawan suggested that he has three options: to continue the alliance with the BJP, to dissolve the alliance and align with the TDP if the BJP shows no interest in reconciling with the TDP, or to persuade the BJP to join the TDP-Jana Sena Party alliance, sources revealed.

Consequently, during Tuesday’s NDA meeting, the Jana Sena Party chief will present his proposal to the BJP’s national leadership. Sources indicate that if Pawan is inclined to join forces with the TDP, he may discreetly exit the NDA meeting. Nonetheless, his decision to attend the meeting itself indicates his inclination to sustain the alliance with the BJP, as stated by sources.

The outcome of the NDA meeting will likely shed light on the future political landscape in Andhra Pradesh, added the sources.
