Jagan Mohan Reddy’s tenure as Chief Minister has drawn criticism from TDP leader Chandrababu Naidu, who expressed his belief that Jagan will be remembered as one of the least successful Chief Ministers in history. Chandrababu made these remarks while unveiling a chargesheet titled ‘Praja Court: Unfulfilled Promises of Jagan’ during the TDP Legislature Party meeting on Sunday. He strongly asserted that Jagan is likely to face consequences in the court of public opinion for deceiving the people with unfulfilled promises and false assurances.
Chandrababu highlighted Jagan’s failure to keep promises such as the commitment to avoid revising power tariffs, pointing out that the Chief Minister has imposed a substantial financial burden of Rs 64,000 crore on power consumers. The TDP chief also criticized Jagan for neglecting the assurance of total prohibition and instead securing a Rs 25,000 crore loan by leveraging revenue from liquor sales.
Questioning the progress on the promise to fill 2.3 lakh vacant positions in various government sectors, Chandrababu emphasized that the increased prices of essential commodities have imposed a financial burden of Rs 8 lakh on every family in the State. Additionally, he accused Jagan of exploiting the public through hikes in petrol and diesel prices, as well as backtracking on the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS), claiming that the Chief Minister is now making excuses for his earlier commitments.
Chandrababu further challenged Jagan on the unfulfilled promise of achieving Special Category Status for the State and criticized the lack of progress on irrigation projects despite Jagan’s initial claims of undertaking a ‘jala yagnam.’
