Naidu’s Davos visit opens doors to global investments in AP

Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has concluded a successful four-day visit to the World Economic Forum (WEF) summit in Davos, Switzerland, where he focused on enhancing the State’s global presence, attracting investments, and forging partnerships with leading multinational companies. The Chief Minister’s participation in various meetings, roundtable discussions, and forums allowed him to showcase Andhra Pradesh’s investor-friendly policies and the “Swarnandhra 2047” vision, aimed at driving the state’s development in the coming decades.
Throughout the visit, CM Naidu held productive discussions with CEOs and leaders from globally renowned companies. He met with the Indian Ambassador to Switzerland, Mridul Kumar, to explore opportunities for Swiss investments in sectors such as pharmaceuticals, medical devices, technical textiles, and rail components. The Chief Minister also proposed collaborations between Swiss and Andhra Pradesh universities, particularly in the areas of skill development and artificial intelligence.
CM Naidu’s engagements also included meetings with Swiss companies such as Swissmen, Oerlikon, Angst Pfister, and Swiss Textiles. The discussions centred around the establishment of research and development centres, innovation hubs, and advanced manufacturing facilities in Andhra Pradesh.
These talks were part of the state’s broader effort to attract cutting-edge investments and foster innovation in diverse sectors.
During his visit, CM Naidu also met with the Chief Minister of Telangana, Revanth Reddy, where they discussed ongoing development projects and shared insights on attracting investments to their respective states. Additionally, the Chief Minister took part in a special event hosted by the Telugu community in Zurich, where he praised the contributions of the diaspora and emphasised the importance of creating opportunities for the homeland.
One of the major highlights of the visit was CM Naidu’s address at a special session on Green Industrialisation, where he outlined Andhra Pradesh’s commitment to sustainable growth through green energy and hydrogen production. He also unveiled plans for a Global Leadership Centre in Amaravati. The Chief Minister met with representatives of several global companies, including Maersk, Cisco, LG Chem, PepsiCo, and Google Cloud, to discuss investment opportunities in sectors like ports, IT infrastructure, food processing, and semiconductor manufacturing.
The visit also saw discussions with multinational corporations such as Petronas, Unilever, ArcelorMittal, and Carlsberg, focusing on major investments in green ammonia production, palm oil, integrated steel plants, and brewery units in Andhra Pradesh. A notable moment of the visit was CM Naidu’s meeting with Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates to explore initiatives in health, education, and innovation, including the potential establishment of a Center of Excellence for Health Innovation in Andhra Pradesh.
The Chief Minister’s successful engagement at Davos has set the stage for significant investments and strategic partnerships, solidifying Andhra Pradesh’s position as a leading investment hub. Several companies have expressed interest in visiting the state to explore opportunities, marking the beginning of an exciting phase of growth and collaboration for Andhra Pradesh.
