Nani’s Pan-India efforts fall flat again with Hit 3

Must read

For the last few years, actor Nani has been striving to break into the pan-Indian market. He has been heavily promoting his films in North India, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala, but the results have not been encouraging. Despite aggressive promotions, films like Dasara, Hi Nanna and Saripodaa Sanivaaram didn’t resonate with audiences outside the Telugu states.

Likewise, his latest film Hit 3 was promoted extensively in Mumbai, Chennai, Karnataka and Kerala. However, it seems audiences in those regions still aren’t showing interest. Sources say Nani is hurt by the outcome as he had high hopes, especially after receiving a positive response during promotions. Unfortunately, the actual reception post-release was underwhelming.

Hit 3 is a complete action-packed film, with Nani aiming to showcase his mass avatar. Believing that the Hindi audience enjoys action genres, he promoted the film accordingly, but it didn’t work. In an attempt to widen the film’s reach, the makers cast actors from various languages — Prateik Babbar as the villain and KGF fame Srinidhi Shetty as the female lead. Directed by Sailesh Kolanu, Hit 3 is the third installment in the Hit franchise.
