Acknowledges crucial role the foundation plays in combating hunger

Nara Bhuvaneshwari, wife of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, visited the centralised kitchen of Akshaya Patra Foundation located in Atmakur village, Mangalagiri mandal, on Friday. During her visit, she highlighted the significance of the government’s mid-day meal scheme, Dokka Seethamma Mid-Day Meal Scheme, which provides meals to around 30,000 children daily. These meals are transported via nearly 25 insulated vehicles to government schools across the region.
The Akshaya Patra Foundation is an NGO that works towards addressing malnutrition among children in India by providing nutritious meals through its mid-day meal initiative. Bhuvaneshwari acknowledged the crucial role the foundation plays in combating hunger, ensuring that children receive healthy meals every day through government-supported schools.
She also expressed her happiness over visiting the facility and inaugurated a rice-cleaning machine during her visit. This machine will enhance the quality of rice by improving the cleaning process, ensuring that children receive the best possible food.
Speaking at the event, Vamsidhar Dasa, president of Akshaya Patra Mangalagiri, mentioned that the organisation began its mid-day meal programme with just 1,500 children under the guidance of Acharyas Jagadguru Prabhupad. Akshaya Patra serves nutritious meals to over 24 million children across 13 States and two Union Territories of India.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including MLC P Anuradha, Vilasa Vigraha Dasa, Raghunandan Dasa, TTD Board member T Janaki Devi, Mangalagiri constituency Telugu Mahila president Bhoolakshmi, State Telugu Mahila general secretary Akula Jayasatya, State Telugu Mahila secretary Vinjamuri Ashabhala, Mangalagiri constituency Telugu Mahila general secretary Manchikalapudi Vaishnavi, TDP workers and Akshaya Patra staff.
