National Animal Resource Facility for Biomedical Research (NARFBR) in Genome Valley has been attracting notable technology research institutes to implement their research for initial testing.

For instance, the official sources explained that Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi and Bengaluru are performing their malleable stent that gradually melts. It is being tested in animals such as pigs. The institute also celebrates its foundation day on May 7. It is on the talks with collaboration from international competitive research institutes.

The facility is active on the vaccination safety valuation tests. For example, any private company approaches the facility with a vaccine, it will be tested on the requirement it must serve.

Animal Biosafety Level (ABSL) of class 1, 2 and 3 stands out to be innovative researching work. The facility is to pursue and support basic and pre-clinical research on laboratory animals in the areas of developmental biology, reproductive biology, neurobiology, behavioral sciences, cardiology, stem cell, molecular cell biology, immunology and virology.

To provide access to the resources through collaboration with the academic institutes, Research and Development institutes or industries, it is supporting the academic and research institutions, universities, biotech, biopharma and biomedical research organisations for developing medical devices, diagnostics, new therapeutics for human and animal health with its state-of-the-art infrastructural facilities.

Canine facilities such as FR Canine Breeding Facility dedicated for breeding of beagle dogs and there is a separate area for exercise of dogs.

Non-Human Primate Facilities NHP Indoor-outdoor breeding facility is for breeding of non-human primates for maternity and infant care.

NHP Corral is for free-range breeding with environmental enrichment and food enrichment and social enrichment for breeding under natural habitat conditions, also for the rehabilitation of experimented nonhuman primates.

The laboratory facilities are to check the quality and health of laboratory animals and also to perform various pre-clinical studies. They include Molecular Biology, Neurophysiology, medical device testing labs, drug toxicology lab, DNA and Gene mapping lab and quality control.
