AP State Legal Services Authority member secretary (District & Sessions Judge) M Babitha has said that the National Lok Adalat is scheduled on December 9 across the State as per the directions of Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur Chief Justice and patron-in-chief, AP State Legal Services Authority, Justice Akula Venkata Sesha Sai, executive chairman, AP State Legal Services Authority and Justice U Durga Prasad Rao Chairman, AP High Court Legal Services Committee. The aim of the adalat is settlement of pending criminal compoundable cases, cheque bounce cases, family disputes, property disputes, bank recovery cases, money suits, pronote cases and pre-litigation cases.
Babitha said that the decisions made at the Lok Adalat would be final. The fee paid for the pending civil cases in the courts is refundable, if such cases are settled before the Lok Adalat. She added that no fee needed to be paid for settlement of cases in Lok Adalat .
She requested the public and all stakeholders to come forward and settle their cases amicably at the National Lok Adalat. For any assistance or details, they may approach the Legal Services Institution situated in the concerned court compound.
