Institution of Engineers (India), Safety and Quality Forum, conferred National Quality Award on M Umashankar Kumar, General Manager (Signaling & Telecommunication), Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) on Friday. The convention being hosted by the Telangana State Centre of IEI is discussing Self-Sustained India: Role of Quality Management.
The award was conferred by U Devender Reddy, Chairman, Labour Welfare Board, Government of Telangana, and B Brahma Reddy, Chairman, IEI, Telangana State Centre. The award has been presented to Umashankar Kumar for his exceptional performance which set benchmarks in the field of Signal & Telecommunication in Railways in terms of quality of signaling works.
Umashankar Kumar belongs to the 1997 batch of Indian Railway Service of Signal Engineers (IRSSE). In his present posting in RVNL between 2019- 23, Umashankar Kumar has been instrumental in leading Team S&T, RVNL, Secunderabad to achieve the peak in quality of signaling works.
