Need for promoting animation, VFX and films from TG stressed

The National Committee on services of the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce organised a full-day conference titled “The World of Entertainment – Animation, Film, and Gaming” in association with the Telangana VFX, Animation, and Gaming Association (TVAGA) and the Government of Telangana on Saturday at T-Hub.
Minister for Industries and Information Technology D Sridhar Babu was the chief guest. In his address, Sridhar Babu emphasised the nned for promotion of animation, gaming, VFX, and films from Telangana. He mentioned that India ranks number one globally in animation, gaming, VFX, and films, with Hollywood outsourcing 3,000 films from Telangana. Major outsourcing companies like Sony, Comcast, Netflix, and Warnerbros-Discovery have significant investments in India.
He also said, the gaming sector is seeing steep growth, contributing to the sector’s development. The Indo-American Chamber of Commerce plays a crucial role in promoting the sector, as much of the major work originates from the USA.
National President of IACC, Pankaj Bohra stated that the future of Indo-US trade in the Animation, Gaming, VFX, and film industry looks promising, with significant growth potential due to increasing demand and continuous innovation.
Special Chief Secretary, Department of Information Technology Jayesh Ranjan addressed the IACC members and highlighted that Telangana is the prime destination for VFX, animation, and gaming. He mentioned that the Government of Telangana has established IMAGE Incubation, an entrepreneurship center supporting startups in this ecosystem. During the inaugural session, Raghavan Srinivasan, Counselor for Commercial Affairs, U.S. Consulate General, Hyderabad and V. Madhusudan, Chief Executive Officer Projects, (TGIIC), Industries & Commerce Dept., Government of Telangana, addressed the attendees.
The conference was attended by over 300 participants and featured more than 25 speakers. American companies such as Warnerbros, Technicolor Group, and Motion Pictures Association also participated.
Celebrity Supriya Yarlagadda, CEO and Executive Director of Annapurna Studios participated along with Representatives from IACC included Pankaj Bohra, National President, S. Purnachandra Rao, Former National President, Srikanth Badiga, Regional President (SIC), Jyoti Kaur, Chairperson of the National Committee on Services Sector, and K. Ganesh Subudhi, Chairman of AP & TS Branch.
