Medical and Health Minister Viddala Rajini has said that the government is taking innovative steps regarding the Aarogyasri scheme. During a review meeting with the Medical and Health Department officials on Wednesday, minister Rajini said that the government, under the leadership of CM Jagan Mohan Reddy, had strengthened the Aarogyasri scheme by including 3,257 procedures with income of less than Rs 5 lakh. She explained that even treatments worth Rs 25 lakh can be provided free of cost under Aarogyasri.
The minister stated that the Aarogyasri card has also been fully modernized and the new cards will be given to every family very soon. The process of making the cards has already started and Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has issued instructions to start distribution of new Aarogyasri cards from December 18.
She said that steps had been taken to distribute Aarogyasri cards to 1.43 crore families across the State through their secretariats. The officials were directed to take proper measures to avoid any problems in the issuance of cards. As per the instructions of the Chief Minister, steps are being taken to include ID numbers in the newly designed Aarogyasri cards.
Minister Vidadala Rajini said that Jagan had set a goal that the health details of everyone in our State should be stored safely. To that extent, the government has already undertaken many reforms. The details of all those receiving medical treatment in our State are being fully digitized through Jagananna Arogya Suraksha, Family Doctor, and Aarogyasri. Steps were ordered to ensure that the details of all the patients are available at one place regardless of the way they are receiving treatment.
Rajini stated that the Chief Minister had already issued orders to take steps to implement the second phase of Jagananna Arogya Suraksha programme. Steps should also be taken to provide more specialty services in the second phase Jagananna Arogya Suraksha camps. She said that new medical tests should also be included and necessary procedures should be formulated for that.
Special Chief Secretary of Medical Health Department MT Krishna Babu, Secretary of Medical Health Department, Dr Manjula, Commissioner of Health and Family Welfare Department J Niwas, Director of Secondary Health and CEO of Arogya Dr Venkateshwar, DME Dr Narsimham and others were present.
