Actor Naga Shaurya, who was recently seen in Phalana Ammayi Phalana Abbayi, is gearing up for the release of his next film, Rangabali, a complete entertainer directed by debutante Pawan Basamshetty. Produced by Sudhakar Cherukuri under the SLV Cinemas banner, the film will see Yukti Tareja make her debut in Tollywood as the female lead. All ready to open in theatres on July 7, the actress is super excited about how the Telugu audience is going to accept her.

Speaking to the media here on Monday, the actress shared that it was only through auditions that she bagged this role in Rangabali. “Director Pawan auditioned me for the role in this film. First, the look test was done. Then they gave me two scenes and told me to act. They selected me only after they were convinced that I would be suitable for this role. This is my first Telugu movie. I feel lucky to have worked with Naga Shaurya and a good production company for my first film. I learned a lot from this movie.”

Since this is her first Telugu film and the actress hails from Haryana, it was not all that easy for Yukti to make her character, Sahaja, look at her natural best. She plays the role of a medical student, and as the name suggests, her character is said to be very simple and natural. “My mother tongue is Hindi. Telugu definitely has a linguistic challenge. Learning and speaking large paragraph dialogues seemed like a bit of a challenge. Many thanks to the direction team in this regard, who helped me a lot. Also, director Pawan used to give the script beforehand. It gave me an understanding of the scene,” shared the Haryana-born, adding, “I completed my graduation from Delhi University. I joined a dance school while still in college. I participated in many dance competitions. I also won the Delhi Fresh Face Competition. Then I started modelling. Later, I gave acting auditions. The song Lut Gaye brought me a good name, and that’s how this journey started.”

Moreover, it is Allu Arjun whom she loves the most in Tollywood because of his dancing skills. “His dancing is hard to match. But we want to dance together. Also, I like Anushka Shetty as a heroine,” said the youngster, while also heaping praise on his co-star Naga Shaurya: “I know about the movies done by Nagashaurya. I heard songs in his movies. It was a great experience working with him. Nagashaurya is a great co-star. A good-hearted person who is very sportive and is an excellent actor.”

On the acting front, Yukti says she is listening to a few scripts in Telugu, which she will sign after the release of Rangabali.
