Nithiin’s upcoming film Thammudu has locked in its release date as July 4. Earlier, the makers had planned to postpone the release after Vijay Deverakonda’s Kingdom announced the same release date. However, since Kingdom is no longer releasing on that date, Thammudu is now reclaiming it.
The film is directed by Venu Sriram of Vakeel Saab fame and stars Saptami Gowda of Kantara fame as the female lead. Yesteryear actress Laya also plays a key role as Nithiin’s sister. The film’s story reportedly revolves around the emotional bond between a brother and sister. Interestingly, Thammudu is also the title of one of Pawan Kalyan’s early hits. Since Nithiin is a huge fan of the power star, this title is likely to attract the attention of Pawan’s fanbase as well. Given that Nithiin’s last two films — Robinhood and Extra Ordinary Man — didn’t perform well at the box office, this film is being viewed as a crucial one for the actor’s career.
