The National Medical Commission (NMC) has announced that it will conduct a survey to determine the amount of stipend paid to undergraduate and postgraduate medical students in self-financed and private medical colleges across the country. The decision comes in response to the directions of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC).
According to the public notice issued by the NMC, a Google form has been created for the survey, which is available on the provided link. All the UG students currently doing their internship and PG students are requested to fill out the form by May 7, 2023.
The NMC has assured the participating students that their identity will be kept confidential and will not be disclosed to anyone. The move is expected to shed light on the current status of stipends paid to medical students and help address any discrepancies in the system.
Medical students in self-financed/private medical colleges have been demanding a revision of their stipend amounts for some time now. This survey could prove to be a significant step in addressing their concerns and ensuring a fair and transparent system for all medical students.
