No ad hoardings on roof of buildings in Cantonment

The Cantonment Board has conducted its board meeting on Wednesday. Among all the approvals, Madhukar Naik said that removal of advertisement hoardings from the roof of buildings, setting up of effluent treatment plant at Cantonment General Hospital were among the three in the top of the agenda.

The scheduled maintenance works were also on the agenda of Secunderabad Cantonment Board ordinary meeting. Cantonment fund to be utilised for constructing working women’s hostels at Mudfort, Secunderabad with an amount of Rs 5,90,000 was also finalised.

Further, permission papers for installation of two statues of late G Sayanna, Former MLA, who has represented Secunderabad Cantonment Assembly Constituency for more than 24 years since 1994 in two locations, beside Secunderabad Club, near JBS and Opposite road to Sarva Sukhi Colony, near Triangle Park, West Marredpally were put on table for higher authorities’ permission.

A proposal sent to higher authorities on allocation of land parcel for providing parking facility adjoining JBS metro station for Hyderabad Metro Rail.

Instead of a Sewage Treatment Plant (STP), setting up of an ETF with 10 KLD capacity has been recommended as ETP removes toxic and non-toxic material from the waste water and makes it usable for various purposes. Further, regarding advertisement hoardings, it was decided that after the expiry of a license of two years, the licensee shall remove all hoardings and vacate the site with immediate effect at their own cost.

The meeting had a proposal to GOC–in–C for a waiver of the 5 per cent ceiling of appointment on compassionate grounds as a one-time measure to clear the long pending list of compassionate appointments.

In the meeting, it was also stated that after an order issued by the Ministry of Defence, the contractors of toll tax were informed not to collect taxes from midnight of April 13. Apart from this, existing contracts related to four-wheelers to catch stray dogs, selection and empanelment of agency for implementation for solid waste management and annual contract for hiring of four-wheelers for horticulture works were approved.

Four lands were identified for construction of new library buildings. A proposal for construction of a working women’s hostel at a cost of Rs 5.9 crore was also laid.
