Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao said that he was confident that the BRS will retain power. “We will bring water and metro in the next term. We will win again. I have no doubts about it,” he said.

He said that Telangana which has already witnessed many achievements should move further. Metro will also reach Maheshwaram after connecting BHEL, the CM added.
KCR was participating in the ‘Telangana Harithotsavam’ programme organised on the 18th day of Telangana Formation Day celebrations. The CM planted a sapling in the Tummaluru Reserve Forest area in the Maheshwaram constituency of Ranga Reddy district.
KCR said that PCCF S.B. Mishra and the current head of the Forests, Dobrial, had raised doubts about the success of Harita Haram. Some Congress MLAs had also ridiculed Harita Haram.

“The saplings in Tummalur which were planted three or four years ago are growing fast and forest cover has increased. Today another 250 acres have been planted. Green cover has increased by 7.7 per cent in Telangana. This happened not by issuing statements. Forest officials worked hard along with sarpanches. Initially, they were angry. Today the villages are full of greenery,” the CM said.

“I had a farm in Dasarla village. I had to drill 20 borewells for 10 to 15 acres. We had difficulties with the borewells. Now, all those sufferings are over,” he said.

“Maheshwaram, Ibrahim Patnam MLAs Sabita Indra Reddy, Kishan Reddy and MP Ranjith Reddy always demanded execution of the Palamuru Ranga lift irrigation scheme. The Palamuru Ranga Reddy lift irrigation scheme should also be completed along with Kaleswaram. All reservoirs have been built. We are going to fill them in August. The Congress tried to block the Palamuru lift scheme. They filed a complaint in the Supreme Court and got a stay. Work stopped. People should think about this. Almost 85 per cent of the project has been completed. I am assuring you that Maheshwaram, Ibrahim Patnam, Tandoor, Parigi, Vikarabad and Chevella constituencies of Vikarabad district will get water soon. All of you will see a big change in the next three to four months,” the cm said.

“A good news for you is that although there is a fight for Krishna water, there are no litigations for Godavari water. Godavari water will be brought to Himayat Sagar and Gandipet. With a small lift there is a possibility to provide water to areas here. The use of Musi River, Kondapochamma Sagar and its flow towards Loyapalli are being investigated. Even if the water level in Krishna is low there is a plan to support this project by taking water from the Godavari River. Water will be brought here within a few days. You need not worry,” he added.

KCR said that Telangana has already planted 276 crore saplings. Already 170 urban parks have been completed.

“I told the Chief Secretary to allot Rs 100 crore for the free distribution of fruit bearing plants to the people from this year,” KCR said.

“We will fulfil the demands of Sabita Indra Reddy to allot a medical college to Maheshwaram. The Tummalur sub-station was also sanctioned. As there is a demand to extend the Metro here the government will try to bring it to Maheswaram,” the CM said.
He said that he was sanctioning a community hall costing Rs 1 crore to Tummalur in connection with ‘Dasabdi Utsavam.

“For each of the 65 Gram Panchayats in this area Rs 15 lakh will be released immediately. Jalpally and Tukkuguda municipalities will receive Rs 25 crore each. Badang Peta and Mirpeta Municipalities each have been sanctioned Rs 50 crore,” the CM said.

KCR said that a forest department official was killed recently by anti-social elements. The government will give appointment orders to the forest officer’s wife and also provide financial assistance. The government will also provide protection by armed police so that forest officials will not face any problems, he said.

He said that truckers from Punjab, Delhi and other North Indian states are now recognising Telangana’s boundaries by seeing the greenery.
