No freedom of speech in AP: Atchannaidu

In the past three-and-a-half years, democracy has been brutally murdered in Andhra Pradesh and after the YSRCP came to power the people lost their freedom of speech which is a fundamental right, said the president of the state unit of the Telugu Desam Party, Kinjerapu Atchannaidu, here on Tuesday.

Addressing an all-party meeting on ‘State-Sponsored Terrorism-Save Democracy’, Atchannaidu said that a factionist has become the Chief Minister of the State due to which the people have lost even their fundamental rights like freedom of speech. “I personally feel that the people have committed a blunder by electing Jagan Mohan Reddy as the Chief Minister. He looted the State by lakhs of crores of rupees taking advantage of the power of his father, the Late YS Rajasekhara Reddy,” the TDP state unit president said.

Now, as the Chief Minister of the State he is again minting money, Atchannaidu said, adding that the people have voted for a corrupt politician. Jagan wants to ensure that except for the YSRCP no other political party in the State should survive, the TDP state unit president said and made it clear that “Even if the leaders of the Opposition parties are sent to jail they will continue to fight against this corrupt Government.”

Criticising CM Jagan, CPI state leader K Ramakrishna in his style said that after CM Jagan loses power he would wear a burka (cloth covering the whole body) and go. He alleged that the CM was going into public with all four sides covered with cloth walls. The government was not allowing people to raise their voices to protest, and with the help of the police they are being arrested. Similar to all welfare schemes being door delivered by the government and the ruling party MLC murdered his car driver and door-delivered the body.CPM leader V Srinivas said that the government was afraid of protests in the state and even the women were being threatened against demonstrations. Survival of people and opposition is possible only if democracy is followed. He said that the ruling party should ensure that the rights of the people will be protected.

Congress leader Naraharisetty Narsimha Rao said, “Scaring and killing people was the YSRC administration. ” He appealed to all the parties to unite and protect the rights of the people and save democracy, Congress party will support to end the anarchy of the ruling party. He said that CM Jagan was afraid of his own shadow and was pitching tents wherever he go.

Jana Sena leader K Durgesh said that state-sponsored terrorism is rampant in the state. To safeguard democracy we will join hands as told by TDP chief Chandrababu. He said that an action plan should be chalked out and implemented at the field level. He said there is widespread opposition to Dalits across the state.
