No State waives crop loans involving Rs 31,000 crore, says Komatireddy

Minister for Roads and Buildings Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said that no State government in the country has so far waived farm loans to the tune of Rs 31,000 crore in one go.
In the wake of the state government’s order to waive crop loans up to Rs 2 lakh, the first installment of funds to waive loans up to Rs 1 lakh was released on Thursday,
Celebrations were held at all Rythu Vedikas across the district. Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy was the chief guest at the celebrations held MNR function in Nalgonda.
Earlier in the day, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy  interacted with farmers from different parts of the State. The Chief Minister also spoke to Raju, a farmer from Tipparthi mandal in Nalgonda district, on loan waiver
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Venkat Reddy said that as part of the state government’s loan waiver, a rally was taken out for distance of 5 km form Nalgonda. He said that 78,757 families out of 83,121 farmers’ were benefited in the first instalment in the district. A total of Rs. 481.63 crore was allotted to Nalgonda district. If any farmer found that his account did not reflect the credited the amount, the Minister advised the farmers to get in touch with the District Collector. He assured the farmers that their crop loans up to Rs lakh would be waived by August 15.
District Collector C Narayana Reddy said that as part of the crop loan waiver announced by the state government, all farmers with loans up to Rs 1 lakh were benefited.
Additional Collector J Srinivas, Municipal Chairman Burri Srinivas Reddy, former ZPTC, Market Committee Chairman, other public representatives, District Agriculture Officer Sravan, Agriculture officials and others attended the programme.
