New Delhi: The No-confidence motion was defeated by a voice vote in the Lok Sabha. Several opposition parties, including the Congress, had walked out by the time the PM touched on the Manipur issue, accusing him of not speaking on the matter.

The Union Government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, faced a no-confidence motion for the second time in nine years. In response to the Opposition’s No-Confidence motion against the NDA government, the Lok Sabha initiated the debate on Tuesday and the motion was defeated on Thursday after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s reply. Taking a dig, Modi remarked: “I request the Opposition to be better prepared when they bring a No-Confidence motion in 2028”. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who returned to Parliament after almost 4 months, participated in the discussion on Wednesday.
