APCC president YS Sharmila launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy, asserting that the current administration in Andhra Pradesh doesn’t bear the mark of YSR but rather that of Jagan.
Speaking to a substantial gathering in Putalapattu, Sharmila highlighted the removal of ‘YSR’ from various welfare schemes, alleging a deliberate attempt to erase YS Rajasekhar Reddy’s legacy from the public consciousness.
Describing the present regime as one marked by violence and lawlessness, she emphasized that the legacy of YS Rajasekhar Reddy thrived under the Congress party’s administration and urged the public to support Congress candidates.
Sharmila also accused both the YSRCP and TDP of offering monetary inducements for votes, urging voters to accept the money but cast their ballots for Congress instead. She alleged that these parties funded their electoral expenses through illicit means such as the liquor, sand, and mining trades.
“Consider the future of your children before casting your vote. Both Naidu and Jagan Reddy’s tenures have set Andhra Pradesh back by two decades,” she asserted.
Highlighting the importance of Special Category Status (SCS) for industrial growth, Sharmila claimed that the state could have seen substantial industrial development and employment generation had SCS been granted.
She also pledged to oversee the construction of a new capital city for Andhra Pradesh, criticizing both Chandrababu Naidu and Jagan Mohan Reddy for their perceived subservience to Narendra Modi. Sharmila condemned Naidu’s use of ‘3D’ graphics for the capital city project and Jagan’s handling of the three-capital issue, which she argued has stalled the state’s progress.
“YSR’s legacy is not embodied in the YSRCP. The true heirs of YSR are YV Subba Reddy, Sai Reddy, and Ramakrishna Reddy. Jagan Mohan Reddy does not carry YSR’s legacy,” she concluded.
